Public Speaking

Motivational Speaker And Education

Nobody can really doubt the impact that a good motivational speaker can have. In the media we see daily examples of good motivational speakers, particularly in the world of sports. History also underlines the importance of a motivational speaker, as the best and most well known leaders knew how to make an inspiring speech. Nowadays, demand for motivational speakers is higher than ever and they are becoming a staple fixture at corporate events. According to recent press stories, UK schools are even hiring them. But do they have a place in schools?

Some head teachers argue that they most certainly do. In those schools where there are problems with disaffection and lack of ambition, using a motivational speaker helps to improve things, so they argue. In schools with these problems, the aim of the motivational speaker is to try to encourage the youngsters to take responsibility for their won futures. And according to many teachers, it is working.

Some schools hire a motivational speaker to speak to children at very important times of their educational lives, such as just before their exams start. This is because these are the times when young people are most likely to be feeling anxious and suffering from low self esteem. Those in favour of the use of a motivational speaker in schools claim that they can boost both self esteem and exam results.

Not all parents will be inclined to agree that paying a motivational speaker is the best use of government money, particularly when there is always need for more computers and other technology. Regardless, many head teachers are adamant that the idea brings with it results. Maybe now is the time to look into what a motivational speaker can offer to our young people.
